Let There Be Snow for the Holidays! - Suzane Northrop

Let There Be Snow for the Holidays!

Let There Be Snow for the Holidays!

Winter Solstice on December 21st will be the official commencement of Winter.
For many, Winter means snow and cold, but it also means December.
Of course, there are the wonderful holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah.
And it’s also the awaited moment for those who can’t wait to hit the slopes!
However, I also know that on this past Thanksgiving, it was my first year that a loved one was not at the table physically. For those of you who feel that experience, the first year – I am truly sorry. My heart and Love goes out to you.
My mom crossed over in the Spring of 2022. Her last couple of years were very difficult. Still, I know without question that my mom is sharing the holidays in Spirit with all the loved ones who have left Earth, and especially my beloved departed nephew. My mom was the last one of a generation on my mother’s side, as was my dad.
We also know that so much of the holidays are for the little ones. Hanukkah and Christmas offer many presents. However, the kids have to keep an eye on the older kids wanting to play with their presents and digital toys.
Each year in December, I love to have Sandy Goodman on my blog-talk show. After losing two sons, she offers a wonderful list of all the ways to help her and others to get through the holidays, especially with the loss of children.
She is the author of the book “Love Never Dies,” a mother’s journey from loss to Love which has given me her yearly list of to do’s. Here they are:
1) Hug those you love and those who need love. Thank them for being in your life.
2) Make a list of who to shop for or those you want to touch during this season of love.
3) Send out cards, with candle lighting announcements to know who want to touch.
4) Purchase candles to burn throughout the month to remind those that love is immortal, and you want to celebrate the lives of those we know even if we can’t see them.
5) Prepare and mail out cards to those who grieve and those who love them.
6) Decorate for those who loved doing it.
7) Plan and carry out huge random acts of kindness, ones your loved ones would have loved you doing.
8) Decorate that makes people smile and make your home contact with Nature.
9) Call or visit those that you feel a connection to.
10) Know always in your heart your loved ones hear you and laugh with you in joy as you think of them during the holiday season.
Each year I revisit Sandy’s list. It makes my heart fulfilled, as I hope the list does for you.
December is not just about snow, cold and holidays, but it’s truly the month of Love to share. I hope your December is filled with Love.
I have two events in December to connect with loved ones. Hope to see you in person in Sturbridge, MA with Thomas John on December 7th, and on Zoom with Austyn Wells on December 29th.
Love,
Suzane
